Daniela will lead a group of up to 15 students to Jean-Drapeau Park, where they can safely observe the eclipse. The group will gather at the school reception at 11:15 a.m. after the first class. This activity is only for students who are free at that time and have no further classes, as no excuses will be granted for missing class for this activity. The total eclipse will occur at 3:26 p.m., and there are many places in the city where you can view it. REMEMBER!!! Take care of your eyes and only observe the eclipse with the appropriate glasses.
Daniela emmènera un groupe d’au maximum 15 étudiants au parc Jean-Drapeau, où ils pourront observer en toute sécurité l’éclipse. Le groupe se réunira à la réception de l’école à 11h15 après la première classe. Cette activité est uniquement pour les étudiants qui sont libres à ce moment-là et qui n’ont pas d’autres cours, car aucun étudiant ne sera excusé pour manquer sa classe pour cette activité. L’éclipse totale se produira à 15h26 et il y a de nombreux endroits dans la ville où vous pouvez l’observer. RAPPEL !!! Prenez soin de vos yeux et observez uniquement l’éclipse avec les lunettes appropriées.

You should never look directly at the Sun during the partial phases of the eclipse with the eye alone or through an optical instrument without specific protection.
Sunglasses are not suitable: Regular sunglasses are not opaque enough to provide protection and they potentially allow invisible but dangerous wavelengths to get through to the eye.
Eclipse glasses: These special glasses have an almost completely opaque filter, compliant with the ISO 12312-2 standard, and allow you to observe the eclipse safely. The filter must be intact: no holes, scratches, cracks or peeling is allowed.
Filters for cameras, telescopes and binoculars: Because they capture and concentrate intense sunlight, optical devices increase the danger when used to observe the Sun. You should never look directly at the Sun with an optical device unless it’s fitted with filters that are specially designed for solar observation.
