First Day of Classes at ILSC Language Schools

Your first day of classes will always be the day after your Orientation

Classes

Your classes will usually be on campus, although you will need to download the Teams app to communicate and collaborate with your teacher and classmates. If you are studying online, your classes will be in Microsoft Teams.

If you study with ILSC Hello, your classes are always online in Microsoft Teams so please remember to sign in with your ilsceducation.com account. You will also receive an email with a code to access your e-Book.

For more information about ILSC Hello or ILSC Allo, visit the ILSC Hello campus page or the ILSC Hello Schedules page.

Your First Day

Your timetable will be visible in your  myILSC app  from Tuesday morning. Check the app to see your level, your teacher’s name and your room number. You can go directly to class. No need to stop at reception unless you have a problem.

Come to class at least 5 minutes early. If you come early enough, you can meet your new classmates in the lounge areas. Bring your lunch or dinner so that you can sit with new classmates and make new friends. There are fridges and microwaves in the kitchen areas.

Please remember that our campuses are English Only Zones so only speak English when you are on campus, even in the lounges, kitchens, bathrooms and corridors.

Starting in Week 1

Your teacher will introduce themselves, take attendance and explain the emergency procedures, and let you know how the four-week session will go.

You will find out which materials you will use, what assessment you will have to do, and have a chance to ask any questions you might have about your studies.

They will make sure you can access the relevant technology, including your eBooks.

See the Start Dates page and filter for your campus to see if you are starting in Week 1 or not.

Starting in Weeks 2, 3 or 4

Don’t worry, your teacher will help you to settle in and meet your new classmates. Ask them about the coming assessment and check if there is any work they would recommend you to do.

Any questions? Ask your teacher or talk to the school reception team.

Being a new student

Your classes are designed to help you improve all the different areas of English. You will practise reading, writing, speaking, listening, as well as grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and much more.

Don’t worry if you don’t understand everything. You will have time to get more comfortable using English for all your communications.

If you have any questions, or if you are having difficulties with anything, ask your teacher for help.

Your Session Calendar

The lists below will show you an overview of a Session at ILSC in Australia and Canada. For ILSC Hello and ILSC Allo students, you will find your information on the ILSC Hello/Allo Schedules page.

All sessions are four weeks. Your teacher and ILSC staff can give you more specific information for your class.
Check your timetable in the myILSC app on the Tuesday morning after your Start Date to see what time your classes are.

Please remember that your teacher will give you more information about assessment dates.

Watch for the Survey emails that you will receive during your study experience; let us hear your voice!

Don’t forget to check out the Activities Calendars  to find out what your campus is doing this session.

Have a great study experience at ILSC!
