Before you start

Student Digital Setup Guide

As an online student, your digital access is extremely important. You will have your online classes using Microsoft Teams.

Make sure you set up your ILSC digital account and your personal ILSC email account early. This will give you access to Microsoft 365, MS Teams and your myILSC application in preparation of your studies.

Visit the Digital Setup Guide for step-by-step instructions.

Online Language Assessment

In the four weeks before your Start Date, you will receive an invitation to complete the ILSC Online Language Assessment. The test will assess your reading, writing, grammar and speaking skills and will take about 60-75 minutes to complete. We use these test results so we can make sure to place you in a class that is appropriate for your level. After your first week of class, if you feel you were placed in a class that does not match your language level, our Academic Team will re-assess you and, if needed, will move you to a class better suited to you.

Orientation – info session

Your school Orientation is a very important part of your academic success. You will be able to learn about your course, the academic team and the campus support. You can get all the information you need for a successful study experience.

Visit the ILSC Hello Orientation Page for more information.

Have you completed all your pre-arrival tasks? Are you ready to start studying? Check the list for your campus so that you can start as soon as you arrive.

Studying Now

First Day of Class

If you start in Week 1, on the morning after your orientation, you will have your first class. If you study in Weeks 2, 3 or 4, your first class is on your Start Date. You can find your classroom and teacher’s name in your timetable in the myILSC app and you will be able to see your class in Microsoft Teams.

Join your class in MS Teams a few minutes early and meet your new classmates. For more information about your first day and your 4-week session, visit the Schedules and First Day of Classes page. Make sure you have logged into MS Teams using your ke05####@ilsceducation.com username. If you haven’t yet, activate your ILSC account

What you need for class

To have the best study experience, ILSC Hello strongly recommends using a laptop to access your online classes.

Try to make sure you have a comfortable seat in a quiet, well-lit location where you won’t be interrupted.

You will need a device or computer with a camera and microphone so that you can participate actively in your classes.

You should also have any school supplies you would normally use, and have your water bottle close.
