Digital Access Setup Guide

Follow each step to complete your digital access

Step 1

Step 1: Activate your Microsoft 365 Account

If you have not received your digital access email yet, see the FAQ below for more information. If your Start Date is within 28 days, you can try to activate your account, following the steps below.

ELS, ILSC & Greystone College do not enforce multi-factor authentication at this time but we strongly recommend it for security reasons.

Campus Codes for Usernames

Your username is
Campus Code + 6-digit StudentNumber + @ilsceducation.com.
If your student number has only 5 digits, add a 0 at the beginning of the number.

Follow the instructions in the videos or the slides below, using the username and temporary password from your digital access email. 

The video also shows how to complete Step 2: Log in to your school app.

Microsoft Authenticator app setup

Use the QR Code or click on a link to download the authentic Microsoft Authenticator app:

Start adding your account

Open the app and click on the plus sign to add your account

Choose Account Type

Choose ‘Work or school account’

Click Sign In

Time to ‘Sign In’ – have your username and temporary password ready!

Enter your Username

Username = campus code + 012345 + @ilsceducation.com

Then click ‘Next’

Enter your Temporary Password

WelcomeYYYYMMDD – your birthday in reverse

Then click ‘Sign In’

Create a new password

Current Password = Temporary Password (Welcome########)

New password – not your name or birthday

Don’t stop – keep going

You must complete the setup in the browser…

Click ‘Open browser’

Re-enter new password

Enter your new password and click ‘Sign in’.

You can see your username at the top of the page.

Save the password

We recommend saving the password in your phone

DON’T click ‘Next’ here.

Click on ‘Pair your account to the app’

Without this step, your setup is not complete.

Open in the Authenticator App

Click ‘Open’ to return to the Authenticator app

Go Back to the account page

You will see the ‘Add Account’ page in the Authenticator App.

Click the ‘back’ button (<) at the top to return to the Account list.

Authenticator Setup complete!

Well done! Your account is set up. Now you can sign in to any Microsoft 365 apps and the school app, myILSC, myGreystone, or myELS, using your username and new password.

    Written Instructions

      Download the Microsoft Authenticator:
     Apple App Store // Google Play Store 

      Add a ‘Work or School account’ using your username and temporary password from your Digital Access email.
    Your username is your ILSC Education email address = campus code + student ID number + @ilsceducation.com  – Your temporary password is Welcome (in English always) followed by your birthday in the format of year (yyyy), month (mm), and day (dd).
                Example: Welcome19950829

    See the FAQ below for more information.

      Create a new password : minimum 8 characters, include 1 number, 1 CAPITAL letter and 1 special character (eg: $@%!). Don’t use your name. Then click ‘Open Browser’ to Sign in and complete setup. DON’T STOP HERE!

      Save your password to your device and click ‘Next’ on the first Authenticator pop-up page.
    DON’T CLICK ‘NEXT’ on the second Authenticator pop-up page. Click ‘Pair your account to the app’

      Open the Authenticator app, click the Back button (<) and you’re done!

    Step 2: Download and login to your school app

    Only log in to ONE app.

    If you are studying at ILSC, you will use the myILSC application. Greystone College students use the myGreystone application. ELS students use the myELS application. Click on your school for more information about the app, or go to the School Apps page.

    For English or French students only

    Download the myILSC app if you study English or French in Australia or Canada.

    Sign in with your @ilsceducation.com username and new password from Step 1.

    Enter your personal email address.

    Click Update Profile.

    And you’re ready to use the app for:

    • attendance
    • timetable
    • classroom
    • SPR (progress reports)
    • and much more…

    myGreystone app

    For all Business, Marketing, Technology or Hospitality Students only

    Download the myGreystone app if you study Business, Marketing, Technology or Hospitality with Greystone College. 

    Sign in with your @ilsceducation.com username and new password from Step 1.

    Enter your personal email address.

    Click Update Profile.

    Now you’re ready to use the app for:

    • timetable
    • classroom
    • grades
    • attendance
    • and much more…

    For all Language Students in the US only

    Download the myELS app if you study English in the United States. 

    Sign in with your @ilsceducation.com username and new password from Step 1.

    Enter your personal email address.

    Click Update Profile.

    Now you’re ready to use the app for:

    • timetable
    • classroom
    • grades
    • attendance
    • and much more…

    Step 3 : For ILSC and Greystone College Only

    Step 3: Download and login to Microsoft Teams

    ELS Language School Students do not use Teams at this time

    At ILSC and Greystone College, we use Teams for online orientations, online classes, digital communication, and collaboration.

    This is your final step in the digital setup. You can download the new Teams app on your phone, tablet or computer. We recommend computer for online classes.

    Login using your @ilsceducation.com username and the new password from Step 1.

    COMING UP IN THE DAYS BEFORE YOU START STUDYING

    WELCOME + Digital Access Information

    Within 28 Days of your Start Date

    You will receive an email confirming your Start Date and Course, and your Digital Access information. Login to your Microsoft 365 account first (see Step 1), download your apps (Step 2 and Step 3) and explore your Student Portal.

    All pre-arrival emails will come from ILSC Education Student Connect.

    Language LEVEL CONFIRMATION

    Within 15 Days of your Start Date

    You may receive a Placement Test invitation and reminders to confirm your English or French level if not done already. 

    ORIENTATION INFORMATION EMAIL

    Within 10-15 Days of your Start Date

    You will receive information about your schedule and your Orientation session. Don’t forget to login to Microsoft 365, check out the Student Connect portal and download the Teams app.

    GETTING READY

    What you need to do

    Have you completed all your required documentation and forms? Go to the Orientations Page and click on your school to see what you can do before your Start Date. Visit the Student Connect portal and check the Ready to Start at ILSC or Ready to Start at Greystone College list, or Ready to Start at ELS Language Schools.

    FINAL FOLLOW-UPS

    Within 4 Days of your Start Date

    You will receive Contracts and follow-up emails if there are any incomplete steps.

    •   Greystone College Students in Australia and Canada use Moodle for their Learning Platform. Check out the Moodle information page.

    •    Greystone College Canada students MUST bring their own laptop for their studies. See the relevant policies here.

    •   You can find your timetable and classroom information in the myELS, myILSC or myGreystone app. Download the app in Step 2.

    • Your Microsoft 365 account includes an email address. You can access the inbox here after you activate your account.

    FAQ and Tech Support

    What is my username?

    You can find your username in your Digital Access Welcome Email (28 days before Start Date).

    Your username consists of 3 parts:

    1. Your campus code
    2. your 6-digit student number (add a 0 at the beginning if your number is 5-digits)
    3. @ilsceducation.com

    Your username is
    Campus Code + 6-digit StudentNumber + @ilsceducation.com.
    If your student number has only 5 digits, add a 0 at the beginning of the number.

    My username or password is incorrect

    Check your digital access email.

    Is your student number correct? If not, contact your agency.

    Is your birthdate correct?

    If your birthdate (YYYYMMDD) is NOT correct in the temporary password, use the Contact Tech Support button to ask for password reset.

    I haven’t received my digital access email

    Is your Start Date in less than 28 days? Use the Contact Tech Support button to ‘request digital access information’. If your Start Date is more than 28 days, please wait. Your account isn’t active yet.

    I’m concerned about digital security

    ILSC Education takes digital security very seriously. Our technology team works hard to protect your data at all times. Learn more in our Digital Security page in the Student Connect portal and in our Tech FAQ.

    I can’t download the school app

    If you are having difficulty downloading the app here, try using the QR Codes here. 

    If your phone or tablet is an Android and doesn’t have Google Play Store, complete Step 1 above then go to this folder to download the app APK using your phone’s browser.

    If you continue to have problems, use the Contact Tech Support button to ask for help.

    My Moodle or app password doesn’t work

    Your password for Moodle or the school app is the same as your Microsoft 365 password. Did you complete Step 1? Did you complete Microsoft Authenticator setup?

    If you need to change your password, go to www.office.com and click Forgot password. If you have already logged into Microsoft 365, please use this link. Change password.

    Please only use this for help with your digital access before you start studying.

    For other support, contact your agency or your campus.
